    Hurricane Carbide Replacement Cutters were designed to fit both Hurricane Carbide Tools as well as a variety of other popular brands. The specs for each cutter as well as their screw can be found on their respective product pages. You will notice that they are available in two different options; Pro Series or Standard Series. Below is a brief explanation of that differentiates these two types of cutters.

    Within our Carbide Replacement Cutters from Hurricane Turning Tools, we offer two distinct product lines. You will find Hurricane Pro Series Carbide Cutters and Hurricane Standard Series Carbide Cutters.     Hurricane Pro Series Carbide Cutters: Each Hurricane Pro Series Cutter is German-engineered and made from C3+ carbide steel, offering exceptional edge-retention and cutting efficiency. Unlike lower-quality alternatives, these cutters stay sharper longer, allowing you to spend more time turning and less time replacing cutters. Pro Series Cutters are ideal for use on a wide range of materials including both hardwoods and softwoods as well as acrylic and resin.

    Hurricane Standard Series Carbide Cutters: Made in Asia, the Standard Series offers an affordable alternative to the Pro Series. Featuring 92 HRC, these cutters will do well with woods, however, if you are turning acrylic or resin materials we recommend the Pro Series. These cutters offer either the same - or very similar - dimensions, shapes, angles and screw sizes to their comparable Pro Series cutter. Compared to the Pro Series, these cutters will need to be rotated and changed slightly more frequently.
