Oneway 6" Faceplate
I like the fact that the Face plate has multiple holes in it for fastening it secure to large pieces of wood. I used it for one that was 17"Dia. and it worked great. I was disappointed that it did not have any set screw to tighten it to the lathe shaft for reverse turning. It needs at least one or 2 set screw, to secure it to the lathe shaft, for turning in reverse. The Woodturning Store Comment: Hi Dale, thank you for your comment. Oneway has decided not to put in set screw holes on their 1 1/4" x 8 TPI faceplates, because the position of the hole must be matched to your lathe. If not, and the hole is in a location not matched for your lathe, tightening a setscrew down on your spindle could destroy your spindle. So Oneway has made the correct decision here. In addition, reverse turning is never recommended on a wood lathe with right handed spindle threads.
