Oneway 16 1/4” Easycore Knife Set. There are four knife sets available for a complete system (sold separately.) Coring doesn't have to be a scary, unnerving experience anymore. Even novice turners with a bit of instruction (instructional video is supplied with the system), can easily remove several bowls from one blank.
Coring will save you time, save your energy, save your tools, save your wood, and can save on a huge amount of clean-up. All these things ultimately save you money! Coring is a very time effective method to make a bowl. You are not only done faster, but it is also less physically demanding and gives you the ability to get several bowls out of one piece. Hollowing out a large bowl can take a large toll on your tools. Coring does require the cutter to be sharpened regularly, but the amount of sharpening required per bowl is drastically reduced.

Large Bowl Coring: Carbide is a must
I use all four knives with the 24" OneWay coring system. I also use the McNaughton system. I have some quite valuable large blanks of spalted Maple that I wanted to core out for nests of natural edge bowls (dry blanks). Bottom line is that for consistency and ease of use I use the OneWay system. I use the HSS cutters with the 9" and 11" knives and the carbide cutters for the 13" and 16" knives. They work very well and the my latest knife (the 16") was very easy to use and the cutter did not need to be sharpened (fortunately) half way through the cut; the HSS cutters would have for sure. Very pleased with the OneWay system and recommend it unless you are trying to core to a shape more suitable for the McNaughton system. The learning curve for the OneWay system is short. Not so much for McNaughton.
