Brittle, but beautiful
This blank is brittle to the point of being friable, like a stone grinding wheel that is very willing to give itself up in order to sharpen a tool. Probably the most brittle thing I've ever turned. That being said, the swirl pattern is as nice and full as what you see in the pics, the color is excellent, and the finished blank is excellent. You will need to pull out your complete bag of tricks you use when turning a brittle blank though.
