HURRICANE, HTT-270AKW, M2 CRYO 3/4" SKEW
These Hurricane Cryo (M2 or M42) are wonderful tools. I have 4 so far. Pro: -Holds an edge for a very long time compared to HSS. -Hype is deserved ! -Great value for the money. Meh: -Handle has a traditional shape and a bit light. I like a cylindrical handle & am used to heavier carbide and designer(?) handles. No biggie. Con: -This skew was not sharp as expected. It appears the final grinding step was skipped (it looked like a 40 grit surface w/ deep grooves and all) leaving about a 1mm cutting edge. Note this is the first chisel I got that was in this condition. Perhaps the factory in the UK was stressed with the current shipping crisis or the Christmas sales frenzy. The Woodturning Store shipped the skew promptly and was received 3 days from my initial order. Great service !
