Axminster Woodturning have recreated some of the most popular jaws in the smaller size to accommodate the 88mm Essential Chuck. The Axminster Woodturning SK88 Dovetail Type D Jaws are a version of the popular small dovetail jaws, made to fit the SK88 chuck. The SK88 Dovetail Jaws Type D expand into a 17.5mm diameter dovetail recess. The dovetail grips the base of small bowls, goblets and egg-cups. The centre is useful for gripping thin spigots, lace bobbin blanks and similar items. The Axminster Woodturning SK88 Chuck allows a wide variation to accommodate any deviation. This enables these jaws to grip a spigot from 0mm to 28mm or expand into a recess from 16mm to 42mm. These jaws are designed to fit the SK88 chuck and will simply bolt onto the Accessory Mounting Jaws. All made entirely in Axminster, UK. As the Essential SK88 Chuck and Jaws are made from EN1A steel, instead of stainless steel like the Clubman and Evolution premium chuck offerings, it is recommend to spray it lightly with a dry lubricant on a regular basis to prevent tarnishing. You should do this more frequently if you are working in a damp workshop or turning wet timber. Please note: the Axminster Woodturning Essential SK88 range of jaws are compatible with the Clubman SK80 Chuck. The Essential SK88 Jaws will also fit the Clubman and Evolution SK100 Chucks as well as the Evolution SK114 Chuck, providing the SK88 Mounting Jaws are used.
