Product Description
The Axminster Woodturning Deep Grip Jaws are one of our most popular style jaws in the larger chuck and are perfect for hollow forms or turning unseasoned timber. Initially named Piranha jaws, due to their incredible ‘bite’ they expand into an 57mm recess or contract onto a 41mm spigot. The 27mm deep jaw has a series of ridges giving the jaw immense holding power at the top of these is an internal and external dovetail, great to hold bowls with the added length away from the chuck body allows better access to the workpiece. These given dimensions are when the jaws form a true circle and offer the best grip. However, the amount of movement available offers a range of 35mm to 58mm internal and 52mm to 75mm external. The Deep Grip Jaws also feature a dovetail at the top, perfect for expanding into a bowl recess. The longer length of these jaws also give you greater access behind your project. These jaws are designed to fit the GK88 chuck and will simply bolt onto the Accessory Mounting Jaws. All made entirely in our manufacturing facility in Axminster, UK. Please note: the Axminster Woodturning Discovery GK88 range of jaws are compatible with the Discovery GK88 Chuck. They are also compatible with the Discovery GK100 and Evolution SK114 Chucks, providing the GK88 Mounting Jaws are used.
